Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding cake was designed to last for many years

Prince William and Kate Middleton certainly had a fairytale wedding. And the two spared no expense in having everything absolutely perfect for their big day – including spending big bucks for two separate wedding cakes. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding would have cost more than $ 34 million

When William and Kate got engaged in 2010, everyone
knew they were going to have the wedding of the century. William is the future
king, and a direct heir had not had a lavish marriage since Prince Charles
married Princess Diana in 1981. 30 years later, William and Kate were walking
in the aisle while 2 billion people are said to have watched the world.

The two did everything they could for their wedding, which would have cost more than $ 34 million. The couple’s security expenses alone totaled about $ 32 million, all of which was paid for by the royal family.

The two spent $ 80,000 on each wedding cake

William and Kate have accumulated serious expenses while
plan their big day. Kate’s wedding dress, designed by Alexander
McQueen’s creator Sarah Burton cost $ 434,000 (her parents
bill). The couple also spent
$ 1.1 million for wedding flowers, which included living trees that bordered the

It’s hard to imagine spending that much on every little detail, but William and Kate also paid a high price for their wedding cake. They would have had two cakes (one for the afternoon reception and one for the evening reception), which cost about $ 80,000 each.

The couple’s cake was to last several years

The William and Kate wedding cake was designed to last for several years to the point of becoming a collectable souvenir. According to Good Housekeeping, the couple’s cake was actually a fruit cake dipped in alcohol. The alcohol in the cake meant that it could last for several years, which, as we know, is much longer than a typical cake. This could explain the very high price.

The couple even served the cake at the baptism of Prince Louis, according to a press release from Kensington Palace. He was seven years old at the time (they also served him at the baptisms of Prince George and Princess Charlotte). It’s hard to believe a cake can last that long, but the royal family found a way.

The two seem to have a strong marriage

The couple’s marriage has lasted as long as their cake, and these days, they still seem to be going strong. Last year, rumors of fraud were reported, but nothing seems to come much from the charges.

William and Kate have definitely made it known that they
take their royal role seriously, but they also seem to have a
good family dynamics as well. Both make as much time for their children as
possible, and they raise George, Charlotte and Louis as privately as they
can. William and Kate always seem very happy together, and there are even
rumors that they may have a fourth child.
