McIntyre beat Brock Lesnar for the title at the main event of the second night of WrestleMania 36. After WrestleMania well, McIntyre fought another game against Big Show the same evening right after WrestleMania completed, which was released as part of the GROSS the next evening.
McIntyre went to Instagram to compare himself to another wrestler who wrestled two world championship games in one WrestleMania. He posted a photo of a young and smiling version of himself with other children alongside the late Yokozuna.
Yokozuna accomplished the feat at WrestleMania IX, where he defeated Bret Hart for the WWE Championship in the main event before accepting an impromptu league game with Hulk Hogan, a game he quickly lost in 22 seconds.
“Seeing this photo touring online and I figured we have something in common,” McIntyre wrote next to the message. “Two title matches at #WrestleMania in one night ….. not sure this kid would have believed you!” #Yokozuna (emoji shaka) »
McIntyre did not suffer the same fate as Yokozuna, defeating The Big Show to maintain his championship. Yokozuna took revenge on Hogan at King of the ring in 1993 where he returned to the world championship.
