According to Public Health, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Waterloo region now stands at 172.
That’s 14 more cases since their previous update on Saturday morning.
However, the region’s website indicates that the number of new confirmed cases is actually 15.
Three of the new cases confirmed on Sunday are health care workers, bringing the total to 40 in the Waterloo region.
The number of resolved cases has remained stable at 29 and there are 445 outstanding cases still under investigation.
The Public Health website has also been updated to reflect three confirmed deaths from COVID-19.
The last case was a long-term care resident of Highview residences in Kitchener.
Outbreaks have already been reported in six long-term care and retirement homes in the region.
