Ottawa records 23rd death of COVID-19 and exceeds 800 confirmed cases

OTTAWA –
A 23rd person died from COVID-19 in Ottawa, according to the latest data from Ottawa Public Health.

The city also registered 46 new laboratory-confirmed virus cases on Sunday, bringing the cumulative total to 803 in Ottawa.

No further information on the new death has been provided.

New figures show that there are 38 people hospitalized with the virus in Ottawa; 10 of them are in intensive care.

Ottawa Public Health reports that there are 19 ongoing outbreaks in institutions, including hospitals and long-term care homes.

The median age of the cases is 50, the youngest confirmed case being a four month old child and the oldest a 105 year old child.

OPH says that 338 cases of viruses have been resolved. So far, this represents 42% of all confirmed cases in the city.
