Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plan to adapt Jack Grealish’s transfer target to the Man Utd team

Manchester United are already planning which long-term transfer target Jack Grealish will be deployed before a possible move this summer.

Aston Villa star Grealish is under contract until 2023, but is strongly linked to a £ 60m transfer to Old Trafford as the club’s future in the Premier League remains uncertain.

The villas are currently in the relegation zone and it remains to be seen if the game will start again and they will be able to climb up safely.

As such, United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing to rush for the 24-year-old and would have determined in what position he would employ him.

And Solskjaer chose an unconventional role for Grealish, the attacking midfielder to be deployed on the right wing, according to The Athletic via the Birmingham Mail.

The right wing is arguably the area that United needs the most to improve on, along with 22-year-old Daniel James, one of the few options the Red Devils have out there.

The other offensive positions are not to be won, Bruno Fernandes playing in no. 10 roles since his transfer in January and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial forming a powerful interchangeable duo in front and on the left flank.

Although he is capable of playing this position, Grealish has not been used on the right flank by the boss of Villa Dean Smith this season. Instead, the former English international U21 mainly presented as an inside striker on the left wing or in the central midfield.

However, statistical experts Transfermarkt.com report that Grealish has played as a right winger 12 times and as a right midfielder four times in his career, in which he has contributed two goals and four assists.

He made an appearance as a right winger last season in Villa’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the league.

This campaign, Grealish shone under the pressure to lead Villa into a relegation relegation, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in the Premier League.
