PRINCE GEORGE – Northern Health claims to have performed just over 850 laboratory tests.
“The cases that have been laboratory confirmed to date come from across the North,” said Dr. Raina Fumerton, Acting Chief Medical Officer of Health. “So in our small and large communities across the region. Many were linked to travel, but some were acquired in the community. The majority of COVID cases will not be confirmed by laboratory tests. it is important that people understand this. “
She says people think that northern British Columbia should assume that COVID-19 is present in their community and should act on it. It means self-isolation and physical distance.
Northern Health says it structures its response in the same way as the World Health Organization’s six recovery phases. Northern Health is planning the first four phases of recovery.
