Northeastern pubs able to deliver alcohol during coronavirus crisis


A campaign group welcomed the decision to allow pubs in the northeast to deliver beer and food to people’s doors.

Since pubs were closed on March 20, there has been some confusion about their ability to deliver – and the Scottish government has now given a clear green light to emergency legislation.

Sarah Crawford, Scottish director of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) said, “This will be good news for pubs who are still looking to provide service throughout the Covid-19 restriction.

“It will have to be done in accordance with strict social distancing measures, but it means that communities who want to continue supporting their local can do it.” This will be especially important in our rural communities where the local pub may be the only accessible business in the area. “
