New England Patriots to Unveil New Uniforms April 20

In a video posted to social media on Friday afternoon, the New England Patriots announced that they will be unveiling their new uniforms on April 20 – an appropriate way to celebrate Patriots’ Day.

The nine-second video showed the dark outline of a player wearing the new uniforms with the words “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. “

New England has been wearing their current uniforms since 2000 and has had unprecedented levels of success during this period, winning six Super Bowls and making nine total appearances in the big game. This is a big reason why the new uniforms shouldn’t be a complete overhaul of the Patriots’ current appearance, but should more closely match the subtle adjustments revealed by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this week.

Quick manipulation of the teaser video shows some details of what appears to be the new road uniform. It includes a silver helmet with a red mask and a white jersey with the “Flying Elvis” logo on the sleeves and the current New England digital font. The jersey has no side panels like the previous set and is apparently inspired by the Patriotes Color Rush jersey, which included UCLA stripes on the shoulders.

The Patriots are one of seven teams to have new or updated uniforms for the 2020 season, including the aforementioned Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Rams Angeles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Most have already unveiled their new look, while the Chargers (April 21) and the Rams (date not specified in May) are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks.
