Gunners midfielder Stewart Robson says it’s still too early to qualify the winger as a flop, despite being the most expensive buy of all time of Arsenal.
Arsenal raised his eyebrows when he snubbed the signing of a world-class central defender and spent £ 72 million on another striker in August 2019.
But despite the huge fanfare, Pepe failed to find a consistent form in north London, with some experts calling the attacker a “flop”.
Robson disagrees and trusts that Pepe will eventually prove the opposite of his doubts.
But first, it looks like Arsenal manager Arteta needs to find his best position.
“A little too early [to call him a flop] Robson told ESPN.
“It has not been a big success this season so far. He had a good game or two, some good free kicks. I’m not sure they found the right position for him.

“They tried it on the right wing where he spent most of his time in France. Then they tried to play it in advance for a few games. “
“However, he has the rhythm, he can do a lot of things. So far, they haven’t made the most of him, he doesn’t look like a confident player. So he’s a flop right now but I think he can get better next year under [Mikel] Arteta. ”
