Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 but their relationship was short-lived. Despite their insistence – faced with claims that their romance was a sham – that they were in love, the couple’s marriage ended less than two years later. Last year, in an interview with The Sun, former personal assistant and friend of the king of pop, Scott Shaffer, spoke about the relationship.
Shaffer remembered a case where the singer took him to Euro Disney for his birthday, but lied to Presley about where they would be.
“She found out when he saw him on the news – he was on TV on the balcony,” he said.
Shaffer claimed that the “final straw” for their marriage was when Jackson collapsed on stage while filming his HBO special in New York in 1995.

“She rushed to see him at the hospital and he said she was only allowed to see him for a while,” recalls the insider.
“He gave her an hour or less so that she could visit her, and then she had to leave – so, essentially, he imposed a time limit on her.
“At that time, she just had enough and it was literally when she called her lawyer to start a divorce proceeding,” he added.
But Shaffer also shared his memories of Jackson’s reaction to Presley’s separation and divorce.
“I couldn’t tell what was going on,” she told Oprah Winfrey in 2010. “Dehydration, low blood pressure, exhaustion, virus? “
“What did your gut tell you? Asked the talk show host. “Did you think there was some drug use?” “
“Yes,” replied Presley, before revealing his side of the story about what led to their separation.
“He had to make a decision” at one point, she said. “Was it drugs and vampires or me?” And he pushed me away. “
Presley said that she and Jackson continued to speak for several years after their divorce, but that, when she died, she had not spoken to him for several years.
Their last conversation was a phone call in 2005, she told Winfrey, when he asked her if she still loved him.
“I told her I was indifferent,” she said. “He didn’t like the word. He is crying. “
Shaffer first met Jackson on the set of the clip for Black and White in 1991, where he worked as a production assistant.
He became a close friend of the popstar, acting as his personal assistant for seven years.
