The former Louisville star was one of the many prospects of having a drug test at the NFL Combine, NFL Network reported Friday. Becton has not been tested for drugs at the university, the report said.
He was an All-ACC first team selection last season, and has emerged as a potential top 10 in the draft.
Becton will be placed in Phase 1 of the NFL intervention program for up to 60 days following the reported test. As long as there are no other problems in the next two months, his list will be clean.
All 32 teams have been informed that tests are being reported, and it is unclear to what extent this will affect Becton’s draft status, if any.
The 6 foot 7 inch 364 pound Becton executed a 5.1-second dash over 40 yards on a combine, impressive for a man his size. This is one of the reasons why the teams have become so in love with him.
