When the coronavirus the pandemic first took over the world, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso and their children were in Dalkey, Ireland. They are still there.
Matt was making a movie with a longtime boyfriend Ben affleck, The last duel, in the small town just outside of Dublin, and it delighted residents, who have spotted him many times. Even more adorably, they started calling him “Matt O’Damon,” according to The New York Times.
Before the lockdown, he was spotted in a pub, jogging and on a beach. In a fun way, The New York Times most residents recognize him instantly, but don’t really want to say hello or say they know who he is for fear of disturbing him.

Matt and his family own a property in Brooklyn and could have returned, but chose to stay in Ireland and wait for things to end. It is not known if they will return home afterwards or if Matt wants to hang on until he is allowed to start shooting again.
