Man City star David Silva names two Liverpool stars to list of best players in history

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has named a current and former Liverpool player among the best he has faced or alongside his career.

The Spanish international is about to leave the Etithad stadium after spending 10 years with the club following his move from Valencia in 2010.

Silva was asked who was the most talented player alongside City, and the 34-year-old then listed a handful of players, including current Liverpool midfielder James Milner.

Milner spent five years in Manchester, making 136 appearances alongside Silva, and the Spaniard congratulated the current Reds star.

“To name one would be unfair,” Silva told the Man City club media.

“In my team, Kun [Aguero] scored a lot of goals and very important goals, Yaya [Toure’]The role of s was fundamental when it was at its peak, Vinnie [Kompany] because of the hierarchy he had over the team and over defense, so did Joe Hart.

“When I got there, Joe, Gareth Barry, James Milner. They were great players, but they also made things easier for me, they really helped me get settled. “

The 34-year-old was also asked who were the toughest players he has faced since coming to England, one of whom was former Reds forward Fernando Torres.

The pair played together for the Spanish national team, but Silva says the former Reds striker did “big things” during his time in the Premier League.

Silva continued, “I can also name a lot of rivals. [Frank] Lampard, who was also my teammate, his statistics were incredible and he was also a great man.

“There are also a lot of Spanish players like Fernando Torres, Cesc [Fabregas], who also did great things in the Premier League.

“Players who are part of the competition like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers. They were all fantastic players and very passionate about their club and the national team as well. “
