“When I was little, I looked in the mirror, holding myself in the belly, wishing that I was thinner,” she sang to the camera, strumming on an acoustic guitar. “I guess I had a case of bodily dysmorphia – and I haven’t shaken it since.

“Things were getting heavy, that’s what the scale told me,” said Smith. “At only 13, wiping the tears from my cheeks, I felt like no one around me really understood this feeling. “

Along with the video, she wrote in the caption, “If you’re feeling particularly depressed right now – don’t worry, you’re not alone. It’s a scary time rn and tbh my anxiety hits the roof.

“I felt a little trapped in my thoughts, so I wrote this yesterday to heal my mind. I’m so grateful to be at home well ?? I hope we all get out stronger together. “

Smith’s EastEnders co-stars Tanya Franks and Milly Zero expressed support in the comments section, as did Louisa Lytton, who wrote, “I could listen to you ALL day. “
