Liverpool have no plans to get involved in a bidding war with Man United for Jadon Sancho this summer, Football Insider has learned.
Borussia Dortmund’s attacking feeling is expected to leave the club in the next transfer window if their asking price of more than £ 100 million is reached.
A Liverpool source said Football Insider that Jurgen Klopp is a great admirer of Sancho, 20, and would be interested in adding him to the advanced ranks of his team.
But Sancho has a price beyond the reach of the Merseysiders, and it is not currently considered viable for him to move to Anfield this year.
Man United is in pole position to sign it this summer and has the funds to respond to an assessment likely to challenge the economic changes in football following the coronavirus pandemic.
Dortmund has indicated through intermediaries that they want an initial £ 88 million for Sancho reaching over £ 100 million, including various performance-related add-ons.
That would guarantee an astronomical profit to a player that the German giants signed from Man City for only 8 million pounds three years ago.
Meanwhile, Sancho has become one of the most exciting and feared young strikers in world football.
He is the backbone of an exciting front line at Dortmund and his 90 club matches have already produced 31 goals and 42 assists.
This season alone, Sancho has scored 17 times in 35 games and has also provided 19 assists.
