Edge towards 1 million cases: The new coronavirus has infected more than 932,000 people and killed more than 46,000 worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University, which tracks figures from the World Health Organization and other sources.
Most affected United States: The United States has recorded more than 211,700 cases, according to a count by CNN. At least 4,762 people died across the country – more than 1,300 in New York alone. At least 928 new deaths were reported on Wednesday – the highest figures on any single day during the epidemic.
Trolling supplies: President Trump has said that the US national strategic stock is almost depleted, as hospitals across the country need millions of masks, protective gear and thousands of additional ventilators.
