Live action / CG Robin Hood remake in preparation for Disney +

Robin Hood, remake, Disney +

Like all the other animated films in the Disney catalog, it looks like ROBIN HOOD is destined to receive a live remake. The 1973 original followed the adventures of Robin Hood, Little John and the people of Nottingham as they fought against Prince John, all characters taking the form of anthropomorphic animals rather than humans.

THR reports that Carlos Lopez Estrada, best known for directing BLINDSPOTTING, is about to direct a hybrid live-action / CG remake of ROBIN HOOD. Like the original film, the remake will be a musical and will once again stage anthropomorphic animals. The project, which is still in the early stages of development, will be written by Kari Granlund (LADY AND THE TRAMP) and will debut on the Disney + streaming service. It’s been a long time since I last watched ROBIN HOOD, but I remember enjoying it when I was a kid.

The ROBIN HOOD remake is another of a long line of live Disney remakes, which include LE JUNGLE BOOK, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, DUMBO, ALADDIN, THE LION KING, and more. There are even more live remakes on the horizon, including MULAN, THE LITTLE MERMAID, PINOCCHIO, LILO & STITCH, and more.
