Lisa Riley revealed that her incredible 12-stone weight loss involved doctors cutting around a stone and a half of excess skin to get her new look.

The Emmerdale star, 43, gave up alcohol and junk food after meeting her fiancé Al, 49, in 2012.

She lost weight, but ended up with large amounts of excess skin that needed to be surgically removed.

Lisa – also known as Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap opera – said, “I started to think about my own health.

“People forget how gigantic I was. With the skin removed, I lost twelve stones, one pound.

“The surgeon cut a stone, four pounds. Since then, my weight has remained more or less the same. “

Lisa added, “Now for lunch I eat either a bowl of soup or a potato in a plain jacket.

“I will never be size 28 again. I look at pictures of myself at the time and say to myself,” Who is this girl? ” It no longer exists. ”

The popular ITV series will no longer be produced because the TV station is working to comply with the guidelines surrounding the deadly bug.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, ITV has decided to suspend production of Coronation Street and Emmerdale soaps effective Monday, March 23.

“We have done our best to continue filming, while following the latest government health guidelines, to ensure that episodes of the two soaps are broadcast on ITV until at least the start of the summer. “
