The St. Louis Blues have agreed to a two-year contract extension with striker Sammy Blais, the team announced on Wednesday.
The average annual value of the new Blais agreement is $ 1.5 million.
Blais, 23, missed 28 games in the fall with a wrist injury and was briefly removed from the lineup in February with an undisclosed injury. However, he posted high career numbers during the 2019-20 campaign, recording six goals and 13 points in 40 games, plus 155 hits.
During his NHL career, the 23-year-old scored nine goals and 20 points in 83 games with Saint-Louis.
The Montmagny, Quebec native was originally scheduled to become a free agent at the end of this season.
Blais was selected by the Blues in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, 176th overall.
