Khabib Nurmagomedov will not fight Tony Ferguson on April 18 as originally planned. This is the fifth time that the fight has failed, but the hope is that the UFC will try for the sixth time to reserve the fight when the coronavirus pandemic subsides.
Speaking at an Instagram Live session on Thursday, Nurmagomedov proposed two potential dates for a rescheduled fight with Ferguson, noting that he would have celebrated Ramadan first – a period in which he never fights.
See what he had to say below (h / t Aaron Bronsteter from TSN):
“I heard that the UFC was working on performing in San Francisco in August. Maybe in August it’s all over… I’ve heard that they’re going to do a show in Abu Dhabi in September… “-@TeamKhabib at @WillHarrisAOAF on Instagram regarding the possibilities for after Ramadan.

“I have heard that the UFC is working on performing in San Francisco in August,” said Nurmagomedov. “Maybe in August it’s all over … I’ve heard they are going to do a show in Abu Dhabi in September …”
During the same Instagram Live session, Nurmagomedov opened up on the reason that he will not fight Tony Ferguson on the 18th. As we already know, he considers it too difficult and too dangerous to engage in a fight that didn’t even have an official place during this global crisis.
“I want to fight,” said Nurmagomedov. “But the UFC has no location. Europe, United States, Asia … they never send a location. So how should this happen? Are you flying to where? That’s what happened. No location.
“All the doors are closed,” added Nurmagomedov, speaking of the extreme difficulty of international travel. “American door. Russian door. Everyone is invited to stay at home for quarantine. The first thing that drives me crazy is that people say I’m withdrawing. How to remove when there is no barrier? No location? I do not understand this. ”
Do you think Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson will finally fight later this year?
