Kevin De Bruyne names Liverpool star as Premier League player of the year

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne said he would have voted for Sadio Mane of Liverpool for this season’s player of the year.

We are coming to the time of the season when the PFA Player of the Year ceremony would have taken place, where a number of Reds players would almost certainly have been in the running.

The Premier League and all other elite football in the UK and Europe have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Reds played a number of players throughout the campaign, while competing with Man City for the English football crown.

In an interview with BT Sport, De Bruyne was asked who his player of the year would be if he were to vote now, and his response was Reds No.10, Mane

“I think it was the total package this year for Liverpool,” said De Bruyne.

“It was important, so if I had to choose someone, I would choose Mane. “
