The Los Angeles Chargers traded to the No. 23 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and selected Oklahoma LB Kenneth Murray.

Los Angeles sent their second round pick in 2020 (# 37) and their third round pick (# 71) to the New England Patriots in exchange for # 23.

Murray’s ability to play was fully visible to the Big 12 champions as a junior, as he made 17 tackles for the loss and four sacks in addition to four break breaks. It won the third All-American Associated Press team and the first All-Big 12 team following its production.

Murray was the Chargers second choice in the first round of the 2020 draft Los Angeles picked Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert # 6 overall. Herbert is a solid pocket passer, but unlike his predecessor Philip Rivers, he can also play with his legs.

New England are often among the most active teams in the NFL draft and recently found themselves without a choice in the first round in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

The Chargers went from 5 to 11 in 2019 and are to replace starting quarterback Philip Rivers, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. Rivers has been the team’s starter since 2006.
