Kate Garraway revealed that her husband Derek Draper is “still very sick” while fighting the coronavirus in intensive care and “it remains an extremely worrying time” for her and their children Darcey, 14, and William, 10.
It was confirmed last week that the husband of the Good Morning Britain star was admitted to intensive care and tested positive for COVID-19.
Kate, who has not been tested but has “mild symptoms”, isolates herself at home and this morning her GMB colleague Ben Shephard read a statement in which she praised the bravery of NHS workers.
“Derek is still in intensive care and is still very sick. I’m afraid this will remain an excruciatingly worrying time.
“The NHS team that worked on him has been extraordinary and I know it is only their professionalism, dedication and bravery that have kept Derek with us so far. I also know that they work just as hard on all the patients they care for.

“However, in quieter moments, I see them and they are so comforting and wonderful to read.
“I am very aware that I am not the only one to suffer this torture, there are thousands of families all over the world who worry for their loved ones and hundreds more every day who have to face the worst news from their relatives. been caught by this horrible virus.
