JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Returns To Work After Heart Surgery

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon told employees Thursday in a memo that he was “happy to be back at work” after an emergency heart operation last month.

“I’m recovering well and getting stronger every day, and I’m happy to be back at work this week – even if I work remotely like so many of you,” said Dimon in the memo.

The bank announced on March 5 that Dimon had undergone emergency surgery to repair an acute aortic dissection. Co-chairs Daniel Pinto and Gordon Smith ran the business while Dimon recovered.

The longtime CEO, who also led the bank during the financial crisis, said “his heart goes to the individuals and families most affected by COVID-19”.

“As always, JPMorgan Chase will play its vital role in helping the world recover. Our extraordinary capabilities prepare us for difficult times like this – we will rise to the challenge, ”said Dimon.
