Jon Jones applauds Anthony Smith in proudly deleted tweet

Jon Jones has built a reputation for tweeting and deleting.

Friday night, Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) was back. By choosing to tell the world how he really feels, the UFC light heavyweight champion has responded to recent comments from former title challenger Anthony Smith.

“Anthony If you want to leave your garage door open all night, hurry up and (buy) the family a gun, some mace or something,” Jones wrote. “A more shower bag like me could have followed you all night long, it could have been bad for everyone.” “

A few minutes after the tweet, Jones told Twitter “Get your screenshots, here is the deletion”, followed by “This is my favorite part. “

All of this refers to a recent home invasion incident at Smith’s home in Omaha, Neb. On April 5, Smith (33-14 MMA, 9-5 UFC) overpowered an intruder who entered his home in the middle of the night. The suspect was arrested when he entered the police.

Shortly after, Smith opened up to the incident. He mentioned how surprisingly strong the intruder was and absorbed his best shots.

The comment opened the door for Jones, who said he would have beaten the intruder worse if it had happened to him. In an interview with Sirius XM, Smith responded to Jones, calling it a “shower bag (explanatory)”. This prompted Jones’ Friday tweet.

In March 2019, Jones and Smith titled UFC 235 against each other. After five rounds, Jones made a unanimous decision.
