John Arne Riise takes stock after ex-Liverpool man and daughter involved in car accident

John Arne Riise moved to ease his health concerns after being involved in a car accident Tuesday night.

The former Liverpool defender was traveling to Alesund in his native Norway with his teenage daughter Ariana when he swerved to avoid an obstacle on the road.

The ex-Reds’ car was left in sunk condition after colliding with railings in Lerstad, a few miles east of their destination.

Local police reportedly recovered the vehicle at the scene of the accident around 2 am after the two men were treated for their injuries.

Riise and her 19-year-old daughter were then taken to the local hospital where they spent the night before their discharge.

In an article on her Instagram story, Riise wrote, “Quick update: I can confirm that my daughter and I were involved in a car accident last night.

“We are fine and got out of the hospital after spending the night there to check.

“Thank you for all the messages, much appreciated. Stay safe and take care of each other. ”

Riise’s agent Erland Bakke told Dagbladet: “He drove his house to Alesund, and just before they got there, something on the road made John quickly turn left and run on the rails.

“The two are fine under the circumstances, they will stay in the hospital until this morning. “

Riise played for Liverpool for seven years, making a total of 348 appearances and winning three major honors, including the Champions League in 2005.
