Friday, Jeremy Clarkson, host of Millionaire, made a wild search against the “cough major” Charles Ingram.

The presenter, 60, went on Twitter to reveal that he would be hosting an online quiz for his subscribers while the coronavirus was locked, and joked that they didn’t even have to cough to cheat.

Ingram was honored this week after the premiere of ITV Quiz, based on his belief in deception linked to his appearance on Millionaire.

In the short video, Jeremy asked his fans to log into his virtual ad quiz, saying, “Greetings. At 7 o’clock this evening on the DriveTribe YouTube channel, I’m going to organize a pub quiz.

“This is garbage and there is no price but it is very easy to cheat. You don’t even have to cough.

“So see you soon. What else are you going to do? Watching Channel 4 news?

Jeremy took over from Millionaire in 2018 when the show was brought back to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

His savage search came after ITV aired its long-awaited Quiz series, based on the scandal that saw Major Ingram and his wife Diana making their way to the millionaire’s first prize.

Ingram was a contestant and used Whittock’s cough to find the right answer.

But their plot was finally exposed, and in 2003, the Ingrams and Whittock were found guilty of one count of cheating on a valuable guarantee and sentenced to suspended prison terms.

To date, Ingram still denies having cheated on the series, said host Chris Tarrant insisted he believed they were guilty.

The television host called Charles “burping, cad and bandit” after suggestions that he believed the couple to be innocent because of his screen appearance, which also led to online speculation.

Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, he said, “It was very well done, wasn’t it? It was actually very well done but it is a drama, it is not factual.

“So most of these conversations were invented because that is what playwrights do. I mean the bottom line is that he’s a rotten, a caddy and a bandit and that he was guilty. There is no doubt in my mind that he was guilty!

Explaining the reason for his opinion that they were guilty of the crime, Chris said: ‘I always said, I haven’t seen anything. But the studio that night was like a crazy house.

“People were screaming and gasping just because he was like that, you know he’s a serving British major, I don’t know £ 30,000 a year …

‘Rented accommodation or whatever, and it’s going‘ ‘Oh yes £ 500,000, let’s take the risk, let’s play’ ‘and all that and you think’ ‘‘ why would you do that? ’‘
