Isiah Thomas questions Michael Jordan’s GOAT status

Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan have a fairly deep-seated rivalry.

There has always been a huge rivalry between Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan. The Bad Boy Pistons dominated MJ’s Bulls in the 80s and as we all know, Jordan absolutely despised them. In fact, Jordan made sure that Thomas didn’t get a place on the Dream Team in 1992, he just beat him so many times.

In a recent interview, Thomas talked about Jordan and the possibility of really calling it GOAT. As Thomas explains, there are several players with Jordan’s athleticism in the NBA right now and if you put LeBron James and Kevin Durant in the 80s, they would likely be just as if not more, if not dominant.

“I think this generation [of players] doesn’t get enough credit for what they do, “said Thomas. “Because the athletes of this generation are far superior to those of my generation. [When we were playing], Jordan was the best athlete we’ve ever seen, [but] athletically, there are about 10 or 11 guys in the NBA right now with Jordan’s track and field. We didn’t have that at the time. With what [Kevin Durant] and LeBron do, if you put them back in the era of the 80s, with their talent, athletics and skills, who is the goat? “

Thomas’ comments will certainly spark debate in the comments section among LeBron and MJ stans. Either way, it’s important to remember that we should just be happy to recognize greatness rather than detracting from comparisons.
