Well, this can now be answered. Mitchell will give up his senior season in Denver and have agreed to terms with the Blackhawks on an entry-level contract, sources said. Ryan Brandell of Barstool Sports first reported the deal.

Mitchell technically did not sign a contract with the Blackhawks, but the two sides agreed on the terms. If the season returns and the NHL allows Mitchell to sign, he will enter into a three-year contract with the 2019-2020 season. Otherwise, he will sign a three-year agreement that will begin for the 2020-21 season.
