Hundreds of Britons stranded in Bangladesh to be repatriated | News from the world

Hundreds of Britons stranded in Bangladesh by the coronavirus shutdown are to be repatriated after the government charters four flights to take them home.

The flights will bring up to 850 UK nationals to the UK, with priority given to the elderly, people with underlying health conditions and others at risk of developing severe coronavirus symptoms.

The tickets will cost £ 600 and are partly funded by the government’s £ 75m program to organize repatriation flights from countries where trade routes were closed following the pandemic.
