The figures, published by the NHS England, include patients who died in hospital and whose coronavirus had tested positive at the time of their death.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which covers Royal Preston Hospital, and East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have both killed 16 patients after a positive test for Covid-19.
On Thursday April 2, the highest daily total was recorded for the county, with 10 deaths. Four were in Blackpool, four in East Lancashire and two in Preston.
As of Sunday, April 5, 4,934 people have died after contracting Covid-19 in the UK, with 47,806 confirmed cases.
In Lancashire, 855 people tested positive. Of these patients, 726 are in the Lancashire County Council area, 66 in Blackpool and 63 in Blackburn.
