The Harry Potter star has announced that his partner Georgia Groome is pregnant.
The actor, best known for playing Ron Weasley in the witch franchise, shared the news on Friday evening.
A representative for the couple said, “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to announce that they are expecting a baby and would like to request privacy at this time. “
Rupert, 31, and Angus star Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Georgia, 28, have been together since 2011.
Last year, Rupert and Georgia sparked rumors of marriage when they were seen wearing what appeared to be wedding rings.
They left fans convinced they had tied the knot after being photographed wearing their new jewelry, but a spokesperson denied that they were married.
After turning 30, Rupert had spoken of his hope of starting a family soon.
He said, “To be 30 seemed strange to me. It just doesn’t make me feel like I’m still there and I don’t know what the future holds.
“I’m just going to keep up, keep playing interesting characters and see what’s going on.
“I would like to settle down and have children soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron?
“It’s a pretty good name, but probably not. And Grint is a difficult name to associate with a first name of a syllable. “
Rupert, who found fame as a child in the film series based on JK Rowling’s books, once said that he would only watch the first three.
In an interview with Radio Times, he admitted that he “couldn’t” watch anything after the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
He said, “I think these first ones are ok. More time has passed. I can detach myself a little more from this child. “
However, Rupert has only watched the first film once since its premiere in 2001.

He said, “I saw Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone not long ago, for the first time since the first, and I really enjoyed looking back.
“But the most recent ones, I certainly couldn’t do it. I could probably go to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. “
