The 55-year-old joined the club earlier this season as assistant coach to Niko Kovac, but was promoted to interim manager when the Croatian was sacked on November 3. Flick got a deal until the end of the season as a permanent head coach in December and has since convinced the Bayern hierarchy that he is the man at the head of the team for the next three seasons after winning 18 of his 21 games in charge.
“Bayern are very satisfied with the work of Hansi Flick,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, managing director of Bayern. “The team has had a very good development under him, playing an attractive football which is reflected in the results. We are the only club to participate in the three competitions. “
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic added: “Hansi and I know where we want to develop the team. We think Hansi is also the right head coach at the moment. “
