Hamilton’s original Broadway cast joins John Krasinksi for his digital series Some Good News

On March 29, John Krasinski released the premiere episode of his new YouTube series Some good news, a show focused on the good things happening in our world today, plus a special guest interview (the first was her Office co-star Steve Carrell). On April 5, Krasinski published the above episode (and a teaser on Twitter) with members of the original Broadway cast Hamilton like his special guests.

In the Twitter trailer, Kraskinski showed that the public can expect a meeting (in order of appearance in the video): Jasmine Cephas Jones, Phillipa Soo, Andrew Chapelle, Ariana DeBose, Thayne Jasperson, Sydney James Harcourt , Daveed Diggs, Anthony Ramos, Okieriete Onaodowan, Ephraim Sykes, Javier Muñoz, Carleigh Bettiol, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Austin Smith, Betsy Struxness, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Jon Rua, Leslie Odom, Jr., Sasha Hutchings, Neil Haskell, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson and Seth Stewart.

Krasinski invited young Aubrey to the show, a little girl who was supposed to be traveling to New York to see Hamilton for his ninth birthday. “If you can’t go to Hamilton, We bring Hamilton to you, ”said Krasinski. And just like that, the original Broadway cast serenaded Aubrey with the opening number for the hit musical, “Alexander Hamilton”.

Hamilton premiered at the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway on August 6, 2016. The production broke the record for most Tony-nominated productions with 16 nominations and 11 wins. Almost the entire original cast has since left production, although Jasperson still retains its place on the Broadway list.

Although Broadway and other productions of Hamilton worldwide have closed due to concerns about the COVID-19 epidemic, actors will meet to speak with Some good news host Krasinksi and his wife, actress Emily Blunt.

Blunt and Miranda acted in Mary Poppins Returns like the flying nanny and the new sidekick Bert-esque Jack.

As Krasinski said in his first show, he is by no means the only “good news site”, but he hopes Some good news adds to those who are already bringing joy to people’s homes at such a time of tension and fear. We have such a special feeling Hamilton episode will leave everyone satisfied.
