With the takeover now only in the hands of the Premier League – which goes through rigorous controls – it is suggested that Steve Bruce oversee at least the last nine games of the season.
However, Spanish journalist and former La Liga specialist in Sky Sports, Guillem Balague, shared his thoughts in a YouTube Q&A.
He said, “Newcastle yet? Why not?
“Under new leadership, but I think right now he hasn’t heard anything.
“This possibility therefore does not seem imminent.
“Why not, they loved him there and he loved Newcastle. “
Balague also offered his views on Newcastle’s buying power in the event of a Saudi takeover.
He said, “There are a lot of doubts about the property, there are doubts about the money that is going to be available.
“If there is money available, Newcastle will be in the forefront of many people’s minds because I think the value of players will go down and everyone will not have money to buy players .
“The problem, of course, is that they will have to get the finances right and try to maximize the potential of financial fair play.
“It means it will take a while before Newcastle can compete for the biggest players, if they do, if they ever will. “
