GREENSBORO, N.C. – A Greensboro firefighter tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from the Greensboro Fire Department.
The firefighter is currently in quarantine and is doing well.
The Greensboro Fire Department is taking precautions to reduce the risk of the virus spreading to other employees and is decontaminating all areas and equipment that the employee may have come into contact with, the statement said.
“During this pandemic, the Greensboro Fire Department has taken essential steps to protect our employees and the community. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the department was able to maintain an uncompromising level of service for our residents and visitors to our city. The Greensboro Fire Department’s commitment is to continue to protect the lives and property of residents in our community and to maintain the health and safety of our employees, “said the fire department in the release.
