George Lucas weighed in on Clone Wars season 7


The last season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is heading to its conclusion on Disney +, and with its Siege of Mandalore arc, the show ends a Star Wars story would have started with George Lucas over a decade ago. Dark Maul actor Sam Witwer said the story is dear to Lucas – and it’s so important to him that he provided Dave Filoni with thoughts and comments that directly influenced the series.

Witwer revealed that Lucas called Filoni to comment on each episode. Speaking with the Stars Wars Holocron blog, Witwer explained, “He was so happy when he put on this show, and we were so happy to put it on for him … you really got a directive from George, and this directive was discussed and translated by Dave Filoni, then he went straight to the actors, animators, lighters, everything.

“It is a pleasure to watch the siege of Mandalore, as it just seems pure in its intention …” said Witwer. “It’s so cool that it’s George Lucas’s latest product Star Wars. The last Star Wars who has George’s fingerprints. “Lucas has responded positively to the last season so far,” said Witwer, who said he hopes Lucas will enjoy the final just as much.
