France wants United Nations Security Council meeting on coronavirus in war zones


PARIS (Reuters) – France said Friday that discussions are underway for the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to meet via video link for discussions on how to combat the impact of the epidemic of coronavirus in conflict zones.

“The idea of ​​a pause (in the fighting) for humanitarian reasons must clearly be discussed in the Security Council and we hope that this meeting will take place so that we can go in this direction,” the French presidency said in a communicated.
