Five new cases of coronavirus in Blackburn with Darwen


There are now 25 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Blackburn with Darwen.

The new figures, released tonight, show that five more people in the borough have tested positive for COVID-19 since Tuesday.

It is still one of the lowest figures in the country, with only seven other local government areas having less positive tests.

And there are now 368 confirmed cases in local authority areas governed by the Lancashire County Council, an increase from 55 the day before.

In Blackpool, 27 patients suffer from the virus, compared to 18.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases throughout the county to 420 – 69 more.

According to Public Health England, 4,234 new cases of coronavirus were registered in the UK on Tuesday, bringing the current total number of people living with HIV to 29,474.

The number of confirmed virus-related deaths in the UK has increased by 563 in the past 24 hours, a new total of 2,352.
