In the past month, Facebook said it has seen a more than 100% increase in the number of people using their desktop browser for audio and video calls via Messenger. The new desktop application could make contact easier. You will no longer have to juggle browser tabs and windows.

Companies like Zoom and Slack are also working to make their video chat services more attractive. Zoom has committed to a comprehensive security review, and yesterday Slack added Microsoft Teams video calling options. Meanwhile, the developers of Facebook Messenger are also working with governments to help spread reliable information about coronaviruses.

You can download the Messenger desktop app from the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store from today.
