An increasing number of cities, counties and states in the United States are recommending the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation to wear a face mask or face mask a little further in public. They make concealment mandatory, enforceable in certain places by a fine or an arrest if you are not wearing your face mask where you should be.

Earlier this month, the CDC changed its guidelines on non-medical masks, urging the general population to wear them as a “voluntary health measure”. Homemade masks and blankets cannot prevent you from acquiring the respiratory pathogen coronavirus, but they are thought to block the larger particles from coughing, sneezing, or saliva from asymptomatic people. In other words, wearing a non-medical covering is protecting others you, and not the reverse.

The severity of the coronavirus The epidemic – with more than 775,000 confirmed cases in the United States and more than 2.4 million worldwide – has prompted certain local governments to make the wearing of the mask compulsory. If everyone wears one, it is logical that each asymptomatic carrier can help prevent the transmission of the virus, which has caused more than 167,000 deaths worldwide.
