Joe – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – was transferred earlier this month from Grady County Jail in Oklahoma to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas after detainees from his former facility have tested positive for COVID-19.
Referring to the possibility that Joe, 57, may leave prison confinement, Dillon – who currently regulates Joe’s Facebook page – went to the social media site to update the fans.
Sharing a link to a story about people disguised as going out in the middle of a lockdown in Australia, the 24-year-old wrote: “Shout in Australia! One more day and Joe will be out of quarantine. #FreeJoeExotic. “
And what has made matters worse for the couple is that they are unable to contact each other while Joe is in quarantine.
Joe, 57, as well as other delays who are currently isolating themselves behind bars to make sure they are not infected, are not allowed to make phone calls or to view or send emails until he comes out.
Prisons across the United States have restricted inmate travel after the coronavirus pandemic hit North America.
In the United States, some 2.2 million people are behind bars, many of whom are awaiting trial, while other criminals are asking to be released on compassionate grounds so as not to fall ill.
Speaking to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM Radio Andy show last Wednesday, Dillon hasn’t spoken to Joe since his transfer.
“We speak three to five times a day, but since he was transferred to this new establishment, they put him in COVID-19 isolation because of the previous prison where he was, there have been cases”, did he declare.
“So I haven’t spoken to him yet since he moved. “
Joe is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for two counts of for-hire murder and 17 other wildlife-related offenses.
He met Dillon through the Grindr app and had his first date at his own restaurant The Safari Bar.
The couple, who share a 33-year age gap, married just two weeks after their first meeting.
