Durham College helps support regional health care providers by donating essential equipment and supplies to Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
As a result of the recent COVID-19 epidemic that has swept through the city and the world, health systems, including Lakeridge Health Oshawa, have experienced a shortage of vital safety and medical equipment.
Durham College was able to help by lending medical and security supplies to the hospital.
Lakeridge Health received more than a dozen college loaners, along with a large supply of commercial disinfectant and soap, and an assortment of test materials, including swabs and blood collection equipment, a disinfectant, face shields, masks and gloves, according to a recent college statement.
“According to Dr. Judeline Innocent, Executive Dean of the School of Health & Community Services at DC, the Vice-President of Clinical Services at Lakeridge Health was extremely grateful for our submission. The DC campus community is extremely proud to make this contribution to our local health care providers and regional partners, “the statement said.
