As the coronavirus epidemic continues, more and more people have been looking for ways to prevent the spread of the virus – from wearing plastic gloves to masks.
But Dr. Hilary Jones has now said if we should wear a face mask when we go out.

Dr. Hilary said, “Some countries say masks are important to everyone, the World Health Organization says the same, and the CDC in America has just given this advice.
“However, Public Health England still says there is no solid evidence that healthy people who go out to stock up and do their essentials should wear masks.
“They say people should, because it stops the mechanical transmission of these droplets, but for others, you could actually do more harm than good.
“Because people put their hands on their face more often if they wear a mask, the mask becomes wet and quickly contaminated, and this can induce complacency.
“You think you’re wearing a mask, so you don’t need to wash your hands. Now hand washing is really important and if you choose to wear a mask, you need to wash your hands before putting it on, before you take it off and after you take it off.
“Otherwise, you’re just contaminating the mask. My personal opinion is that you do not need to wear a mask if you are socially distancing yourself in public, but if you do have symptoms, wear a mask. “
