Delta Air Lines Inc. (New) (NYSE: DAL), Southwest Airlines Company (NYSE: LUV) – Berkshire Hathaway reduces its position in Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines

Becky Quick said on CNBC’s “Options Action” that Berkshire hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A) (NYSE: BRK-B) sold part of its position in Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) and Southwest Airlines Co (NYSE: LUV).

Berkshire’s stake in these companies was over 10% and it was expected to report any changes within a few days, she said. Berkshire has sold 12.9 million shares of Delta and now owns 9.2% of the company. It has sold 2.3 million Southwest shares and now owns 9.9%.

Berkshire’s stake is that these names are now less than 10%, so we won’t know what it does with its position in the future, said Quick. The company will not have to report again until 45 days after the end of the quarter.

Quick added that Warren Buffett is not expected to speak publicly until the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in May.
