WWE leader Vince McMahon is no stranger to bringing out budding romances – from his daughter Stephanie’s relationship with Triple H to her own kayfabe affairs with Trish Stratus.
But while dramatic breakups and bitter love triangles are sometimes the best wrestling scenarios, the nature of the business means that the stars inevitably end up together outside the ring.
Here, SunSport takes you through ten of the mighty WWE couples…
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon
One of the most powerful couples in wrestling history, WWE legend Triple H and CEO and President Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon have been going strong behind the scenes for over 15 years.
The two first met on screen in a scenario involving a false marriage in 1999 before they started dating a year later.
Stéphanie then married Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, on October 25, 2003.
The WWE couple, both of whom are still active television characters, have since had three daughters.
Aurora Rose was born in 2006 and Murphy Claire entered the world in 2008, while Stéphanie then gave birth to Vaughn Evelyn two years later.
Brock Lesnar and Sable
The notoriously private Beast Incarnate, 42, caused a storm when he linked up with the former WWE Sable star – who is 10 years younger – in 2006.
The couple never had romantic stories on television, the American model Sable, 52, proving to be one of the stars of the Attitude era in the 90s, a decade before Brock became the face of Ruthless Aggression.
Sable – real name Rena Marlette Lesnar – is now retired and lives with the former UFC heavyweight champion on a Maryfield farm with their two sons, Turk and Duke.
The Undertaker and Michelle McCool
The Dead Man is one of the most sinister artists in the fight, and has achieved cult status after having rarely broken character throughout his three-decade career.
Away from the ring, Taker, whose real name is Mark Calaway, tied the third knot in 2010 after marrying WWE superstar Michelle McCool.
McCool – real name Michelle Leigh Calaway – is a former double Diva champion and has made sporadic wrestling appearances since her retirement in 2011.
A year later, she had her first child with the legend of WrestleMania The Phenom, a girl named Kaia Faith.
Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella
Bella Twins Nikki and Brie were involved in two of WWE’s most prestigious relationships with John Cena and Daniel Bryan respectively.
While her twin sister split from the head of cenation in 2018, Brie has since cemented one of the strongest couples in the business alongside fan-favorite Bryan.
The wedding of the two 2014 has been screened on Total Divas and they are expecting their second child later this year.
Le Miz and Maryse
WWE “Most Must-See” superstar The Miz and his wife Maryse were married in 2014 and currently have their own reality show together.
The colorful couple welcomed their second child, Madison Jade Mizanin, in September after the birth of their daughter Monroe Sky in March 2018.
They also reportedly spent £ 5.3 million on a new luxury home in California last year raising their young families.
Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch
RAW Women’s Champion announced their engagement to Beastslayer last August after a secret romance.
Lynch, real name Rebecca Quin, has been dating Rollins, real name Colby Lopez, since February 2019, but the couple released their relationship in May.
WWE soon incorporated their romance into an on-screen script that saw them team up for a winner to win all mixed tag games at Extreme Rules.
Andrade and Charlotte Flair
Another of WWE’s powerful new couples – Andrade revealed that he knelt down to suggest 10-time female champion Charlotte on New Years Day.
The Mexican sensation revealed his close relationship with the future stepfather, the great Ric Flair, in an exclusive conversation with SunSport in January.
He said, “In a man-to-man conversation we had, he said,” Please protect my daughter, she has changed and she is happy. I said, “Yes, I will protect your daughter, I love her and I am so happy too. »»
Edge and Beth Pheonix
The two WWE Halls of Famers got married in 2016 and have two daughters together.
Despite her retirement, Beth Phoenix, aka The Glamazon, helped help her husband Edge – whose real name is Adam Copeland – as he made a spectacular return to the ring earlier this year.
The Ranked R-Superstar shocked the world with a return to the Royal Rumble almost nine years after being forced to retire.
After rebounding from his neck injury ending his career to perform during the tightrope extravagance, he is ready to face WrestleMania with Randy Orton after the Viper attack on Edge’s wife Beth .
Jimmy Uso and Naomi
The long-term relationship of the two was a staple of the WWE spin-off reality series, Total Divas, until they finally married in 2014.
Naomi – real name Trinity Fatu – is also the mother-in-law of two children of Jimmy (Jonathan), Jayla and Jaidan.
The 32-year-old is a former female SmackDown champion, while her husband, son of WWE legend Rikishi, is half of the six team team owners with her twin brother Jey.
