Damarious Randall signs one-year contract with Raiders worth $ 3.25 million

A few days ago, the Raiders looked free agency. They had about $ 5 million in cash available under the ceiling, which is roughly what it would cost them to sign their rookie class. Everything changed when their deal with cornerback Eli Apple failed.

With Apple’s deal set at $ 6 million against the 2020 ceiling, they suddenly had that money to spend again. They acted quickly. Literally six hours after Apple was no longer in the photo, the Raiders decided to sign safety Damarious Randall instead.

The question was whether it would be a direct transfer of money from one player to another or not. Well, it turns out that Randall – while apparently being a more widely celebrated signature – will cost about half the price.

Randall will earn $ 3.25 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

It also means that the Raiders have some money to sign lesser free agents, if they choose to do so. They still have to think about maybe getting a cornerback now that Apple is gone.

There are also a few other positions still in need that they could tackle. Keep in mind that most of the free agents out there should be fairly affordable.
