PARIS (Reuters) – The number of people who died from coronavirus infections in French hospitals increased by 8% in one day to reach a cumulative total of 7,632, director of public health agency Jerome Salomon said on Wednesday ‘a press conference.

But he added that the figures for the day were incomplete as authorities were unable to record data from the nursing homes, which account for more than 30% of total deaths, due to “technical problems”.

The total number of deaths, including figures for Tuesday’s nursing homes, is up 5% to 10,869.
