Drew Gulak vs. Cesaro: Gulak tries to found things at the beginning, but Cesaro controls him and picks up a near fall. Gulak thwarts Gotch and works on an arm bar until Cesaro detonates himself. Gulak responds, retrieves the cross but Cesaro makes the strings. Gulak follows with the apron on the ground, and Gulak has aimed at the arm, slamming Cesaro on the steps. Gulak is pulled here and heads up and flies in an uppercut; Cesaro covers for 2. He follows with knee strikes but Gulak Sunset turns him over and gets 2. Cesaro thwarts the Gu-lock, and strikes the rotation of the airplane without hands for victory. Cesaro defeated Drew Gulak at 4:30 am via a pin [**¾] I really enjoyed it, the two guys are great and delivered a short, but fun and energetic outing. It was probably best to stay short in the empty arena, but I wanted more and I hope we have a longer game in the future.

– Stephanie McMahon welcomes us to the show.

– We open with an America the Beautiful montage with the different stars who have played Mania.

– GRONK welcomes us for the show, staging the two spectacular nights of Mania. Mojo arrives and is excited and GRONK cuts him several times.

– Cole and … JBL are on Smackdown’s commentary. At least it’s not Sam Roberts.

WWE Women’s Team Title Match: Champions The Kabuki Warriors vs. Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss: Bliss and Asuka start, until Asuka dances and hands over to Sane. She plays, Bliss slaps and slaps her. Nikki enters and works a sleeper, until Asuka shows up and they put the boots on. Asuka is commenting on the race as they trade, Bliss, and they are fighting as Bliss hits a senton on the ground. Nikki’s high cross and the challenger are in control. Sane and Nikki step in as Sane gets dumped, pulls Nikki to the ground as they all fight on the ground. Back when the champions isolate Nikki, and Asuka talks about crazy shit. Sane joins us and the double teams follow. Nikki fights back, tags to Bliss and takes control until Asuka joins Sane and follows with the double tap taped for 2. Asuka returns and puts the boots on Bliss, and puts things in order Earth. Sane joins him and Asuka follows with the ass attack and the knee strike for 2. Bliss responds, then eats a whim. Big change for Sane and Nikki, Nikki going wild and following with the high cross for 2. Sane wakes up the eyes, Asuka enters the scene and Nikki cuts her with the purge while Sane hits the crazy elbow. Asuka locks Nikki, but Bliss hits Twisted Bliss, throws by Sane, Nikki cuts it from top to top and Asuka labels, and the apocalyptic apparatus obtains 2. Sane empty Bliss and Asuka is posted while Nikki hits the purge and Twisted Bliss the completed . Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss defeated champions The Kabuki Warriors at 3:00 p.m. via a pin [***] It may have been a little too long and there have been some obvious editing cuts, but it was fun and Nikki’s performances were really good. I enjoyed it overall.

– Sami promises his match with Bryan and will leave IC Champion.

– Corbin must of course speak, and runs to Elias after trying to kill him on Smackdown. He will win tonight and demands the Elias countdown and assign him the match. Elias is alive and coming,

Elias against King Corbin: They fight on the ground, the guitar pulled by Elias and he kicks Corbin. We officially start and Elias continues his attack, suffocating Corbin. Corbin unloads him then puts him back in the ring, covering for 2. He follows with strikes, the Bossman lariat and covers for 2. Corbin aims at Elias’ injured shoulder, re-stationing him. Corbin shouts a lot to make noise, but Elias retorts and posts him. Elias takes control and follows with strikes and kicks. Drift away follows for 2. The fall from the elbow of the upper rope is missing, but it rolls and Corbin hits deeply six and for 2. Elias against the knee strike and who gets 2. Corbin cheap blows and rocks Elias with the cords, but the ref sees it. Elias wraps it up with victory tights. Elias defeated King Corbin at 9:01 am via a pin [**] It was ok, Elias takes revenge, but it will probably continue.

– Becky arrives in her big rig.

– Tom & Byron are on Raw commentary.

Raw Women’s Title Match: Shayna Baszler vs. Champion Becky Lynch: They fight, tip over on the floor as Shayna dominates early until Becky steps back and slams Shayna on the board and the steps. Back and Becky heads up and follows with the dropkick of the missile. She puts the boots on Shayna, but Shayna cuts her knee but Becky rocks her for 2. Shayna follows with a suplex for 2, but Becky strikes her knee and on the apron, they exchange until Becky strikes a uranage and rolls it in, covering for 2. Becky is frustrated and heads for the ropes. Shayna cuts her and slams her against the carpet in the arm bar and pulls a disarmer. The knee strike follows as Becky escapes and that makes 2. Becky stuns her on the ropes, and locks the disarmer in the ropes until Shayna throws herself into the suspended starter. She repeatedly slams Becky at the table and returns, Shayna against the starter, drags Becky down but Becky shoots a Bret hart and counter into a stacked pin for victory. Champion Becky Lynch defeated Shayna Baszler at 8:50 a.m. via a pin [***] They worked out a well organized and physical match, with a good fight and a fight, and I thought that it had worked well, but I think that the result was absolutely false… UNLESS Ronda comes back.

IC Title Match: Champion Sami Zayn vs. Daniel Bryan: Gulak, Nak and Cesaro are at the edge of the ring. Sami hold and powders. We killed two minutes while Bryan chases and gets distracted by Cesaro. Nak is now holding Bryan and Sami is still running. Go back and come back to the ground. Gulak takes out Nak & Cesaro, they fight and Gulak throws them into the crowd. Sami tries to walk around, but Bryan attacks and beats his ass. Back, Sami begs and Bryan hits him with soil and delivers. He follows with kicks to the ground. hits and the dropkick missile connects. Bryan founds him, hits the cross strikes and the corner dropkick. Sami cries and begs the ass that Bryan follows with knee blows. Sami shot him and finally attacked, slapping Bryan and Bryan simply shot. he follows with clotheslines, kicks and writes shit from him. Gulak fires Bryan then is attacked and runs up the stairs. Bryan eliminates Cesaro & Nak, but steals in a helluva kick and Sami retains. Champion Sami Zayn defeated Daniel Bryan at 9:30 am via a pin [**¾] It was going well, Sami was getting his youthfulness, and even with the dropout, I thought it was fun … until we got the cliché style TV finish, which seemed so flat and anticlimactic.

Smackdown Tag Team Placement Match: Champions John Morrison vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jimmy Uso: They start by forming a fun series of counters. They all grab ladders and climb, Jimmy is released, but then pulls Morrison down, Kofi’s high center, and Morrison cuts him off with the knee strike running. He works on Jimmy, works in counters with Kofi while Jimmy and Kofi climb. Kofi throws Jimmy, Morrison joins him on the ladder and throws Kofi until Jimmy cuts him off. Jimmy & Morrison throw Kofi, Morrison eye stings Jimmy and hits him with a ladder. Morrison places Jimmy on a ladder and follows him with a corkscrew plunging over him. he climbs, but Kofi jumps and hits something like an RANA and the two have had a hard landing. Kofi follows with a plunge, Jimmy runs along the barricade and Kofi cuts it, makes a ladder bridge and places Jimmy there. Morrison upstairs, Kofi cuts him off and heads upstairs, Morrison walks the ropes to Kofi (does he think he is Elix Skipper?) And hits a Spanish fly in the ring. Big Uce by Jimmy and everyone is down. Jimmy and Kofi climb, Kofi gets dropped and climbs under the ladder and knocks Jimmy down. Morrison joins him and they trade at the top of the ladder, Morrison drops and Kofi hits him twice off the ladder. Kofi clears the ring, they make a ladder bridge in the ring and Jimmy cuts Kofi, slaps him on the ladder and Morrison superkicks on the ladder. Jimmy climbs another ladder, but Morrison throws him out and onto the ground. Morrison climbs, but Kofi is alive and returns. They fight at the top, Jimmy is also alive and adds another scale. They’re all fighting, fighting for the titles and Morrison is thrown from the ladder on the bridge and left with the titles to keep. Champions John Morrison defeated Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso @ 18:40 [****] The effort was there, I have a lot of respect for these three to do all this shit without the adrenaline rush of a crowd response and make it something worth watching is a credit for them. The finish was a bit crappy / lame / flat, but I thought it was pretty good.

Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins: Seth steps back and Cheap Shots Kevin before powdering. They rush to the ground and return, Kevin takes control with strikes, clotheslines and the sentry. He hits another and talks about shit like Seth powders. They crawl on the ground while Kevin controls, slamming Seth at the barricades. For the Seth apron and counters as a backdrop. He then deals with the hawk’s arrow on the apron and no one kicks the hawk’s arrow on the floor because there are no pins. The suicide dive follows, Seth shit talks to Kevin and hits another. Kevin cuts the third but eats a slingshot. Kevin counteracts the failure and follows up with the DDT. The superkick and the cannonball connect and it goes up. The swanton follows for 2. They work in the counters, Kevin’s lariat and the two men are on the ground. They work upstairs and Seth casts his eyes and hits the sunset loop bomb, the superkick and another. Kevin against the blackout in the pop-up bomb and it gives 2. Seth tries to run and hits Kevin with the ringtone for the lame WrestleMania DQ; this quarrel must continue … as Kevin calls her a bitch and wants to end this match in a NO DQ setting. Seth accepts, takes control and discharges Kevin. He beats him with the steps, the chairs and clears the announcement table. Kevin hits him with the bell, starts again and puts him on the table. He climbs into the Mania set and flies to put Seth across the table. Back and stunned. Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins at 4:00 p.m. via a pin [***¼] I think the fake DQ was a bad choice because they were building a truly divine match. If you wanted to turn into a NO DQ match, they should have booked it instead. Things after reboot were far from bad and Kevin had the big “moment of mania”, but I felt that it unnecessarily disrupted the large flow they had originally and did not add as much to the match they probably thought. All in all, it was good, but I think it would have been much better as a singular No DQ match than the shitty fake DQ and reboot, as they really thought about booking here too much. And it’s a shame because these guys have worked too hard for a bad designer to hold them back.

– Mojo & GRONK are interrupted by Truth, Mojo stops GRONK and wins the title 24/7.

– Heyman arrives and says Drew will be Brock’s bitch tomorrow night.

Universal title match: Champion Goldberg vs. Braun Strowman: They go around in circles, talk about shit, Goldberg attacks, misses the spear but hits one. Hit another and the third gets 2. Throws. Braun against the jackhammer in a Powerslam, hits another and another. One more completes it. Braun Strowman defeated champion Goldberg @ 2:44 via pin [NR] Well, Braun FINALLY won the jackpot and had to look good to survive and defeat Goldberg. How long will it last? It’s too late? Who the hell knows, but we’ll find out in the future. I think it was what it took and came as the right call to do.

Bone Yard Match: Undertaker vs. AJ Styles: We’re going to Undertaker’s Bone Yard, or Michelle McCool’s favorite vacation spot. Styles arrives in a hearse and leaves a coffin to call Taker. Taker arrives rollin, roillin, rollin on his pig. Hog I said no dong. Styles talks about the shit of digging Taker’s grave, and calls him an old man. Taker attacks, talks to Styles about shit and slaps him in the coffin. He misses a point, breaking the hearse window and his arm is bleeding now. He slaps Styles on the windshield, they fight at the top of the hearse and Taker strikes him for talking about Michelle. Styles responds with a low blow and they exchange while Taker hits Styles in the grave. The Good Brothers arrive and they are joined by a bunch of druids I guess. They mistakenly attack kung fu film style one at a time, so the taker fights them until the Good Brothers attack. Taker kicks them, hits them with shovels, and Styles hits him with a headstone, not movement, a headstone. Styles then throws it through a wall and monologues on Taker who no longer has it. Styles continues to attack and calls her an old broken down bitch. He grabs a shovel, nails it and throws it into the grave. He uses a mini bulldozer and tries to bury him, but Taker appears behind him and kicks his ass, Styles runs away on a roof and Taker follows him. Taker summons fire and starts Styles, beats the Good Brothers and throws Gallows from the roof, the Karl and Styles tombstones continue to fight until he suffocates from the roof. Taker talks shit to Styles’ broken body and takes him to the grave while Styles begs and tells him he’s sorry. Taker says he pushed his ass and hugged him … and threw him in the grave. Taker then buries him in the grave to win. Undertaker defeated AJ Styles @ 6:45 pm via funeral [****] I loved Lucha Underground, I love movies from Grind House and I make wacky bullshit like that. Your mileage will vary on something like that, but when it was over, I felt like it was WWE’s best effort to do something similar to the broken universe / Lucha Underground. It was much better than I expected and better than a regular match between these two players could have had at this point. The production was great, they really looked at the gadget, and you really have to do it to do something like this. Hell, AJ’s main event was a Mania to start. It’s a bit difficult to rate something like that, but since I thought it was really great, and for me **** it’s great, that’s it.

There are a lot of people who will shit in the show just to shit on it, and I myself had concerns about several reasons. I have even seen people call it the worst candidate ever. It is an extreme exaggeration. When all was said and done, I thought that one of the WrestleMania 36s that evening was, against all odds, a good three hour show that I enjoyed, and that's all I could ask.
