Sidney Crosby expressed condolences Tuesday after a mass shootout in his home province of Nova Scotia over the weekend.

The Pittsburgh Penguins Center issued a statement by Sidney Crosby Foundation for more than 20 victims, including Constable Heidi Stevenson, a 23-year-old veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, originally from the hometown of Crosby, Cole Harbor.

“I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Constable Heidi Stevenson of Cole Harbor, as well as to all the families who have lost loved ones and who have been affected by this terrible act,” wrote Crosby.

“This tragic event devastated communities in Nova Scotia, but I know we will come together and help each other. I think of everyone at home. – Sidney “

The filming took place over 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
